Golf Saudi’s role is to unlock the universal appeal of the great game of golf by building a compelling narrative, across its six key pillars in order to create mass excitement around the game with key demographic targets. These pillars are:

  • Access & Infrastructure
  • National Team & Elite Development
  • Mass Participation
  • Events
  • Tourism
  • Sustainability

Mass Participation forms one of Golf Saudi’s key pillars, with the aim of introducing, educating and entertaining citizens about golf. This will be done through both on and off course programmes to build touch points, through which citizens can hear and learn more about the game before deciding whether to take it up for themselves.

Golf Saudi recognises the importance of creating and developing these modern touch points; at home, at school and in everyday life, to ensure the fundamentals of the great game are ingrained and opportunities are created away from just on-course activities. Strategic development of urban-based practices that focus on entertainment are under consideration, allowing the general public the opportunity to engage with the game at a purely social level. These consumer touch points will be accessible and build interest and demand for second stage development.

Building on internationally recognised principles of sustainable development, Golf Saudi aims to make sure that key environmental and social issues lie at the heart of both strategic and delivery decision making – supporting a viable and progressive economy: Making sure that issues of carrying capacity, site selection, cumulative impact and overall scale of golf courses are carefully considered and addressed. This also helps Golf Saudi to make cost savings and resource efficiencies through investment in smart technologies. Future proofing facilities and protecting from external dependencies and risks Ensuring long-term profitability and a positive reputation for the sport. Enabling Saudi Arabia's golf industry to be globally recognised for leading the integration of sustainability into the growth of the sport. Developing innovative approaches and technologies to be pioneered in the growth of golf, which can then be replicated in other relevant sectors and spheres of Saudi economic development, landscape regeneration and community building.
