Five-time Major winner Yani Tseng returns to the spotlight on PIF Global Series debut

(London, England – 6 August 2025) Yani Tseng, a former World No.1 and five-time Major champion, is relishing her return to the spotlight as she prepares to tee it up at the PIF London Championship alongside some of the game’s biggest stars at Centurion Club from 8-10 August.

It is the third stop on the PIF Global Series in 2025 with previous events taking place in Saudi Arabia and South Korea – all driven by Golf Saudi – and Tseng is no stranger to elite competition with a total of 27 career wins to her name albeit with her last win coming in 2014.

The Taiwanese star took a three-year break from 2021 to 2024 due to injuries and multiple hip surgeries that disrupted her rhythm and consistency. Now, she is focused on rediscovering the joy in her game as she eyes a true comeback.

The 36-year-old said: “It's very good to be here and see some old faces again and to play on the Ladies European Tour (LET). I think this Tour has been growing so much. It's amazing to be here with this beautiful weather and the course is just amazing.

“I just want to really enjoy my game and play joyful out there, to bring the best out of me. I just love this game so much. I don't really have a specific goal out here. I just want to enjoy it as much as I can but of course, I want to win. I think all the players that play on tour, they want to win a tournament and I'm one of them too. But at the same time, I feel like I have nothing to prove to myself. If I don't win, I'm also happy. I would just like to put myself in contention again. That pressure, I just miss a lot. I want to challenge myself to see if I could get to that and to be able to feel that again.”

Tseng competed at the AIG Women’s Open last week, making the cut, and admits that it was a significant step in the right direction to where she was previously.

“I feel very good, actually. I feel my body's good. Last week, it was a big improvement for me and this week I'm out here, I feel good in confidence, but at the same time, all I can focus on is play one shot at a time and not worry about too much.”

The former World No.1 is in the field with current LET Order of Merit leader Mimi Rhodes who has three wins to her name in 2025, along with fellow English counterparts Charley Hull and Georgia Hall.

Solheim Cup star and Golf Saudi ambassador Carlota Ciganda is also in the field alongside Major winners Celine Boutier and Patty Tavatanakit.
