(Houston, Texas – 4 September 2025) The Aramco Houston Championship takes centre stage this week as the fourth and penultimate stop on the groundbreaking PIF Global Series, an event that has quickly become one of the most anticipated fixtures on the women’s golf calendar.
The Golf Saudi-backed PIF Global Series events offer some of the biggest purses on the Ladies European Tour (LET), and this certainly catches the attention of the players in a massive way.
"Honestly, if I had the freedom - say, if I won a major this year and had five years' status - I'd probably play more PIF events over LPGA ones," said American Danielle Kang, who won the first of her six LPGA titles at a major - the 2017 KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
"The reason is they elevate players. I feel proud to be a golfer when I'm here. The way they use social media, the way they highlight our golf - it's done tastefully. They make you feel like a star, even if you're not playing well."
The PIF Global Series, which was launched earlier this year, has already taken in stops at the PIF Saudi Ladies International, the Aramco Korea Championship and the PIF London Championship.
A total prize fund of $2,000,000 is up for grabs at each event, with $500,000 set aside for the team competition and the remaining $1.5 million going to the individual competition.
"The atmosphere is great - respectful, professional," Golf Saudi ambassador Kang said after competing in Thursday's pro-am competition at Golfcrest Country Club. "You wake up, go downstairs, and there's a courtesy car with a professional driver waiting. It just feels different, and it makes you feel good about yourself.
"Golf Saudi, Aramco, and the PIF Global Series put so much effort into elevating women's golf. That's why I love being here. Everyone keeps asking when I'll retire. Why would I? I want to see where the PIF Global Series goes. If there's more team golf coming, I want to be part of it."
This week's field comprises 104 professionals representing 35 nationalities who will be competing in a 26-team format over the first two days, with an individual stroke play competition concluding on the final day.

There are three former champions who have won on American soil on the PIF Global Series - formerly known as the Aramco Team Series - at Golfcrest Country Club this week with England's Charley Hull (2021), Spaniard Carlota Ciganda (2023) and Alexandra Försterling of Germany (2024).
Ciganda, who is also a Golf Saudi ambassador, fully agreed with Kang's high praise of PIF Global Series events.
"Honestly, it's amazing," said the 35-year-old from Pamplona. "Without their (Golf Saudi) support, the Ladies European Tour wouldn't be where it is now. They've given us so many opportunities to play around the world, and what they're doing for women's golf is unbelievable. I feel lucky to be part of it."
The Aramco Houston Championship marks the first visit by the PIF Global Series to the Lone Star State. With Houston's vibrant sporting culture as a backdrop, the event is set to deliver a week of elite competition, entertainment, and community impact — strengthening the Series' global footprint and connecting with new audiences across the United States.
"The global element of the PIF Global Series is huge, and bringing the LET to the U.S. is another great step," said Czechia's Sara Kouskova, who lies second on the 2025 LET Order of Merit after enjoying a superb season, highlighted by victories at the Jabra Ladies Open in May and the Tenerife Women's Open in June.
"The prize fund also attracts LPGA players, which raises the standard. These events are definitely ones you circle on the calendar."
The wide array of players from across the globe includes nine winners from 2025 LET season - Casandra Alexander, Perrine Delacour, Manon De Roey, Laura Fünfstück, Cara Gainer, Darcey Harry, Kouskova, Mimi Rhodes and Shannon Tan.
England's Rhodes comes into this week heading both the LET Order of Merit and the Rookie of the Year rankings after winning three times so far this year.
Along with 104 elite players competing for the individual and team prizes, several activations at Golfcrest Country Club will be focusing on introducing youngsters to the sport, including Golf Saudi’s Go Golf Clinics.
Tickets are now available, starting at $15 for Friday, $20 for Saturday and Sunday, or grab a full weekend pass for just $50. Please visit this link.
