SPAIN’S JOSELE BALLESTER WINS PIF SAUDI INTERNATIONAL POWERED BY SOFTBANK INVESTMENT ADVISERS, PART OF WOW FESTIVAL AND RIYADH SEASON 2025

22 November 2025. Spain’s 22-year old phenom Josele Ballester won his first professional title and a first prize of US 1 million today at Riyadh Golf Club, at the seventh edition of the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, part of the WOW Festival and a highlight of the Riyadh Season 2025.

Having turned professional and joined the LIV Golf League less than six months ago, Ballester finished on 22 under, three shots clear of fellow LIV player Caleb Surratt who finished in solo second place and a heart-breaking runner up for a second year in a row.

Ballester, with a bogey-free 66, was delighted to bag his first professional victory against a field of so many of the world’s best golfers explaining “I'm super happy. It's been everything, right? Like at the end of the day, being a young boy dreaming about this moment, winning your first professional career, this is why I worked so hard every day. It's been really cool to finally get this done. It's going to make me keep working even harder to accomplish all the things I have.

But right now I'm really happy and thankful for all the people that have been there supporting me.”

Ballester enjoyed an illustrious amateur career winning the 2020 Spanish Amateur, 2023 European Amateur and 2024 U.S. Amateur. He attended Arizona State University from 2021 to 2025, earning All-American honors twice before signing with Sergio Garcia’s LIV Fireballs in June 2025.

Ballester added “It's been great these past few months. It's been a lot of learning. When I joined LIV, I was not playing great, and it was a learning process. I had to become better. It's

been really cool to see that in this brief time I've gotten so much better and that I can compete at the highest level with the best players in the world.”

The American 21-year-old Caleb Surrat was disappointed to finish one shot shy of the podium for a second year, and was once again sporting in defeat, “It's hard. I finished runner-up at this event last year. So it's tough. I feel like I'm overdue on my first win. I definitely had that in my mind today. Just getting off to a bad start really hurt me. Jose was beating me by four shots today through three holes. He's an amazing player, props to him. I'm sure we'll have many, many good battles.”

The International Series title was decided today, with Zimbabwean Scott Vincent securing the top spot in the rankings after amassing 335.11 points over the season, finishing 40 points clear of Yosuke Asaji in second place. Both Vincent and Asaji have earned places on the LIV Golf League next year after concluding the season as the top two players on the International Series standings.

Reflecting on the achievement, Vincent said, “I think it’s still settling in. Right now all I want to do is go see my family. We’ll head towards them tonight, and I can’t wait to see them. Obviously I’m very thankful. It’s great that this has worked out for me. I’m looking forward to that. It’s going to be a great challenge.”

Golf fans walking the beautiful renowned fairways at Riyadh Golf Club on the competition days, November 19-22, 2025, enjoyed a special adventure by simply scanning the ‘Go Golf Challenge’ QR code located out on the golf course while, at the same time enjoying the spectacle of the world’s best golfers competing.

This year’s edition brought a new and exceptional twist as fans enjoyed the introduction of the WOW Festival — an immersive celebration combining world-class golf, luxury cars, and live music, offering a unique experience that blends sport, entertainment, and culture in one of the standout highlights of Riyadh Season 2025.

A concert took place each evening of the competition featuring world-renowned artists. On Wednesday 19th November, Oumaima Taleb and R3HAB, on Thursday 20th November, Central Cee and Haifa Wehbe, on Friday 21st November, Nancy Ajram and on Saturday 22nd November Ayed Yousef.
