Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – 9 February 2025 – Golf Saudi’s world-class ambassadors wrapped up a thrilling showcase for local fans on the green during LIV Golf Riyadh, which took place from 6-8 February at Riyadh Golf Club. As the first of two back-to-back global golf events hosted in Saudi Arabia this month, the tournament marked another major step in Saudi’s rise as a premier golf destination, inspiring the next generation of Saudi champions.
Competing in front of the passionate home crowd, Golf Saudi ambassadors Dustin Johnson, Talor Gooch, Harold Varner III, Jason Kokrak not only showcased their skills on the green but also their commitment to developing golf in Saudi Arabia. By supporting grassroots programs, mentoring emerging talent, and promoting Saudi golf on the global stage, they are helping shape the future of the game in the country.
Adding to the local presence, Khaled Attieh, one of Saudi’s newest professional players and a recently announced Golf Saudi ambassador, was selected as reserve for the 2025 season-opening LIV event. His participation further underscored Saudi’s growing impact on the sport, as he gained valuable experience among some of the world’s top golfers.
Across the three-day showcase, huge crowds of fans enjoyed world-class golf, entertainment and experiences during the innovative nighttime format. With LIV Golf Riyadh now concluded, excitement is already building for the PIF Saudi Ladies International – taking place from February 13-15 at Riyadh Golf Club - where the world’s top female golfers, including more Golf Saudi Ambassadors, will return for another action-packed weekend of sport.
Ambassadors bringing world-class experience to support Saudi golf’s growth
The Golf Saudi ambassador program features 20 elite players, with Ladies European Tour, LPGA Tour, Asian Tour, and LIV Golf stars making up the varied roster. Their influence extends beyond the professional circuit, serving as role models and advocates for growing the game at every level.
As part of Golf Saudi’s vision to develop the sport, these ambassadors provide aspiring players in Saudi Arabia with access to world-class expertise, bridging the gap between professional and amateur golf and inspiring local talent while positioning Saudi golf on the international stage.
Driving demand and inspiring future champions
Golf Saudi remains committed to making the sport more accessible to all, actively working to engage young players, increase participation, and cultivate future champions. By hosting world-
class tournaments and offering development programs, Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a hub for aspiring golfers, whether professional or amateur.
With Saudi Arabia rapidly becoming a key player in the global golf industry, the presence of world-class professionals in Riyadh at the recently-concluded LIV Golf and the upcoming PIF Saudi Ladies International, provides a valuable opportunity for young golfers to watch, learn, and aspire to compete at the highest level.
